Intention
In business, we often hear the terms "inputs, outputs, and outcomes" thrown around to describe processes and change.
There is a parallel in emergency planning to how we manage continuous improvement through after action reporting and improvement planning using the same input > output > outcome model.
When drafting something I find this model useful for keeping my writing more succinct. Everything I include I ask myself "why am I including this... what is the output I am expecting from the reader, and what is the outcome I am hoping for?".
Writing with more intention has helped keep me on track when I am faced with the dreaded blank word document at the start of a project.
